Two more weeks till I go on maternity leave! Yay! The next few weekends are chockablock of activities! We’re catching up with a few friends each week so hopefully the bub won’t decide to pop out before then.
My bump has not really grown from maybe 28 weeks. I kinda expected my belly button to pop out but it didn’t. A lot of people say that there will be a growth spurt in the last 4 weeks before the baby delivers and even though I’m definitely feeling heavier and I tire more easily than before, my bump doesn’t seem to want to expand.
That said, I am feeling the bub moving a lot more now and it’s so cool! Sometimes it’s just lil rhythmic bumps and I wonder if they’re kicks or hiccups and at other times, it feels like its exploring the boundaries of my tummy seeing how far it can stretch out. I’ve also noticed that it feels the pressure when I have my arm resting on my tummy coz it will turn around and try to kick it off to get its space back! Really funny when that happens!
We had a parenting class this weekend at our birthing hospital and to be honest, I didn’t find it very informative. I’ve not read loads of birthing or babies but the bits and pieces that I’ve read up on here or there was pretty much covered in the class. Everyone I talked to seems to be in two minds about classes – some reckon they are beneficial and others told me not to waste my time. I definitely am leaning towards the latter at the moment.
One thing that I did picked up in class that I haven’t came across before was perineum massage. The lady brought it up a couple of times during the class which obviously piqued my interest so I googled it when I got home and hmmm, I’m still not sure what to make of it yet.
