We’ve been gone for a month. A month, can you believe it?? So that’s the reason for the silence. 😛
We had such an amazing time. Our trip reads like a backpacker’s itinerary:
Singapore – practically our second home; Nikoi Island – mini-moon baybeh; KL – meet up with the entire family; Siem Reap – hot and dusty Angkor Wat; Phnom Penh – I want to save that elephant at Wat Phnom; Bangkok – protestors making me find alternative shopping sites, hmmpphh!; Chennai – wedding celebrations and a gathering of old friends
Let me tell you, visiting places in their hottest and driest months is never a good idea. Unless of course, you’ve been acclimatised to the weather. It does not make for a pleasant look sweating in the heat like that. But I’m bringing home a gorgeous tan, if I may say so myself and we were on holiday! You can’t really say anything against that.
The end of our trip was bittersweet. I was having a great time catching up and reminiscing with my college friends again that I didn’t want to leave! On one hand, I missed the comforts of home but at the same time, going home means having to face the mundane reality of life again and I was just having a grand time traipsing around the world and spending time with Mr R and just living life on the fly. Also, having cable tv to wind down to at the end of each day is pure luxury!
But we’re back home now, unpacking our bags unwillingly and trying to adjust to the new season that is autumn…
