You know those times when the kids are having a nap but somehow every time you make a move to leave, one of them wakes up to stop you from leaving the room. Maybe you’re on a flight and you can’t be bothered to get your laptop out to do any work. It could be that you’re just feeling lazy and don’t want to go to the effort of going on the desktop to use Lightroom or Photoshop (me a lot of the time!). I’ve been in those exact situations a few times now and I realise that I could use my iPhone to get some simple editing work done. It’s been perfect! Here are some of my go-to apps, tried and tested and heck, I’m using them to this day still!
I’ve been using A Color Story since it was released however many years ago. Over the years, I’ve accumulated quite a number of their filters and I love the fact that they are completely buildable on top of each other. On top of that, they’re constantly improving the app and adding more tools to selectively edit your photos which at times make me think that they’re almost as good as Lightroom if not better because of their buildable filters!
This app has saved my iPhone photos so many times that it is my miracle worker. Without it, I don’t think I’d use A Color Story as much as I do. For me, one can’t exist without the other. I use the Line Removal and Object Removal tool tonnes!
I’ve really gotten into videos this year documenting my family’s everyday moments. Deciding to do video was a big decision for me only because I knew I would have to upgrade and buy …. It’s like when I decided to delve into photography – the amount I’ve spent of cameras and lenses and all its corresponding accessories over the years. I don’t even want to think about it. I wasn’t 100% sure if I was going to be able to figure out videos so decided to do a test run with an iPhone app and this app has been to me like A Color Story is to my photos.
I like how you can just whip out your phone while on a short train ride and be editing your photos or videos on your iPhone. It’s just ridiculously efficient.
I’ve used this app for a few years now. It’s very basic and I like it that way but at times I would like it to have a Story scheduler function. If it had that, maybe I might get into Stories but at the same time, I don’t really want to get into Stories so it’s one less thing I have to worry about. It’s clean and simple and it works great if you’re happy to plan your photos and captions and have it publish the photo on your behalf.
What are some of your go-to iPhone apps? I love checking out new apps so let me know in the comments!
